Renaissance Medical has fully equipped endoscopy suites with complete endoscopy sets of the very latest technology. Available procedures include: upper gastro-intestinal endoscopies, colonoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies and anoscopies all on both diagnostic and therapeutic bases.

At the therapeutic level, Renaissance Medical has the technical competence and facilities for the following procedures amongst others:

Breast cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment:

Excellent in-house competence and technology is available in this area of specialist medical practice. The hospital is equipped, for example, with a breast scanner with which lesions can be located intra-operatively. The instrument allows for dye-localisation studies on non-palpable breast lesions. Being both a medical and surgical centre, Renaissance Medical also offers breast reconstruction options for breast cancer patients as the need arises.

Indeed, over the years, the detection and management of breast cancer is an area in which Renaissance Medical has carried out much corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity. Dr. Dayo Ajayi, the hospital’s Chief Executive, has given several clinical and public presentations on radio, television and elsewhere on topical issues relating to the detection, treatment and management of breast cancer. The NTA, LTV, Cool FM and other media houses have severally had him educate the general public in these areas. Renaissance Medical was one of the trailblazers in the adoption of this ‘gold standard’ in the
repair of hernias in Nigeria. It involves the use of prosthetic meshes rather than simply stitching
defective tissue planes together.

Gastrointestinal surgery
This is closely related to endoscopy and may be called for depending on the results of endoscopic
investigations. Again, Renaissance Medical has first-class in-house competence and facilities for
such procedures including, amongst others, gastrectomies and small and large bowel resections
for both benign and cancerous causes.
Plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery
Renaissance Medical is one of only a handful of medical establishments in Nigeria with the
technical and infrastructural competence to locally provide these forms of surgery at
international best practice standards. Available treatments include facial and dermal fillers for
wrinkles, labial folds, vertical lip line alterations, cheek and jaw volumes, etc. Piercings and
